What is iCAM

iCAM stands for intensive continuous alcohol monitoring (CAM), meaning that CAM has been elevated to the next level with the inclusion of house arrest functionality in SCRAMx.

Just as AMS pioneered the CAM space in 2003, iCAM is the evolution of that space to create the most comprehensive alcohol offender management solution on the market today. AMS developed SCRAMx – and iCAM − in response to input we received from thousands of court customers across the country who not only wanted to monitor offenders 24/7 for drinking, but also ensure confinement to their homes during mandated hours of the day.

Because of its “intensive” nature, iCAM promotes even greater offender accountability. It also gives courts and supervising agencies a more intensive and flexible way to sanction offenders based on behavior, stage in the justice system, or other variables using the SCRAMx Adjustable Contingency Model™. Under this model, CAM and curfew monitoring components can be intensified – or “graduated upward” – to progressively sanction for noncompliance, or reduced – or “graduated downward” – to reward program success.
